Wisdom of Ages You don't have to go far on the web - or off it - to
find homespun "One Size Fits All" advice. You can take it or leave it
- personally, I usually leave it. But there are some that have stood the test
of time, and I have selected some that I respect - but you decide ... A third grade class learn to value themselves and each
other ... A sunday newspaper column that got taken
seriously for all the wrong reasons - worth a read, though. This one is centuries old, but none the worse for
that.
This has a history to it, and probably was not written by the helpless women who
is its subject. But worth a thought or two ... Much too cloying for my taste, but widely loved, (and the source for
'SunScreen'), the Desiderata was written by Max Ehrmann, Poet and lawyer of Terre
Haute, Indiana (1872 - 1945). |
