Felony conviction and the futureKen wrote: I was convicted
of a sex offense in 1993, I got out of prison and off parole in 2000. I've not
got a family my own home and haven't been in trouble with the law. I have
a chance to go to school for a new job opportunity because I was injured on my
job and am gonna be unable to do my line of work for the rest of my life. I don't
wanna waste two years of my life going to school to be retrained for a new job
if I'm not gonna be able to get a job in that field, so do you have any suggestions
on what I can do? Dear Ken Not sure why you'd be wasting
two years and not able to get a job. Is the retraining for a job that the felony
conviction cuts you off from? If so, surely you can change the course to one
that does give you opportunities. You got a job before, until your injury ...
why wouldn't you get another job, so long as you choose a job you can do. And
will be allowed to do? If I'm missing something, come back - but from what
you say, retraining can only be an opportunity. Up to you to make it a good one.
