Foot Etiquette - Or Bored Wife?Brian wrote: My wife
has a habit of removing her shoes (usually open shoes or sandals) during car trips,
rubbing the bottoms of her feet, running her fingers back and forth between her
toes, picking her toenails, etc. Later she'll offer me a snack, go to a restaurant,
etc. When I show my disgust at this, she says her feet are clean and there
is nothing I should be bothered about. Even if no food were involved I think
this is a completely unacceptable habit; the food aspect makes it, to me, unimaginable.
What do you think? Thanks for your time in considering this. Dear
Brian First let's get the BS out of the way. We all have dirty habits, we
all touch dirty things. And what do we do about it? We Wash Our Hands. And
that's the heart of the problem. Instead of saying "your behaviour disgusts
me", you wimp out and whine about hygiene. The relationship, as you well
know, is going down the tubes, because you no longer communicate. I don't disagree
with you; but I'd tell her what I really thought. If you care enough, get counselling.
If you don't, get your own meals. |
