Visitors

We never ask for personal details at any time. We do not use cookies. Visits to the site may be logged for statistical purposes, but at no time are visits examined on an individual basis.

Contributors

The only personal information that we hold is emails sent to us, which are held indefinitely, offline.

The contents of emails sent to askanon are considered to be intended for publication on this site (and no other), and may be so published. No guarantees are offered as to time, date duration or style of publication, except that we freely undertake never to use 'real names'; names supplied by readers are assumed to be real, and will be altered prior to publication.

Emails are forwarded anonymously to our advice team, on the basis that they do not retain copies of the text - they do not have access to headers or sender information

Askanon does not rent, sell, or share personal information about contributors with other people or companies except under the following circumstances:

1. We respond to subpoenas, court orders, and other legal processes;
2. To establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims;

4. We will not transfer archived information in the event of the website being sold or otherwise changing ownership. However, if - and only if - such archives became relevant under sections 1-3 above, then items may be made available to the new owners.

Askanon displays targeted advertisements based on the content of the pages you visit. Advertisers may include financial service providers (such as banks, insurance agents, stock brokers and mortgage lenders) and non-financial companies (such as stores, airlines, and software companies).

Askanon uses a third party to supply advertisements, and does not work directly with with vendors, partners, advertisers, or other service providers in different industries and categories of business.

Confidentiality and Security

While we will never use the information we have in any personal way, we do reserve the right to hold the information on file. At no time will we - or anybody else - send emails to the addresses we may hold, other than automatic emails triggered by your actions (eg submitting an entry), and an editor response to any such action.

On a day to day basis, we have have no direct access to the information held by us, which is stored automatically by software, somewhere in our database. we believe the storage to be secure and well protected, and we affirm that we believe it to comply with relevant UK laws, and US laws.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Askanon may update this policy from time to time. We will notify readers about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by placing a prominent notice on the site for a period of not less than 28 days.

In the event of an ownership change, subsequent activity may be subject to a different privacy policy.
